Ithaka S+R Hosts MLA Symposium
Alternative Career Paths for Doctoral Students
The Modern Language Association (MLA) is running a proseminar on careers for twenty graduate students and recent PhD recipients in the New York City area. Proseminar participants explore the full range of careers open to humanities PhDs, from tenure-track positions to employment in business, government, and nonprofit organizations.
Ithaka S+R is honored to host this year’s proseminar fellows. Deanna Marcum and other PhDs on our staff will lead a roundtable discussion of their career paths and current positions, commenting on the skill sets and the mindsets necessary for a variety of roles within academic libraries and nonprofits in the higher education sector.
More information on the proseminar program is available at https://connect.commons.mla.org/proseminar/.
