Roger Schonfeld will be presenting on a webinar hosted by The Partnership, Canada’s national network of provincial and territorial library associations, on February 18 at 1:00 pm. Registration is open at The Partnership’s Education Institute.

Liaison Librarianship: Assessment and Ambivalence

The drumbeat of assessment has become the cadence of higher education. But measuring the work of liaison librarians is much more complicated than doing a gate count, especially when it comes to the relationships we nurture with faculty. Join The Partnership’s Education Institute for a panel discussion about the challenge of assessing liaison activity:

  • What is the purpose of assessment in the context of liaison librarianship?
  • Why is it complicated?
  • Why are some librarians resistant?
  • Could customer relationship management (CRM) be a solution?
  • What is the role of organizational structure?

Key outcomes:

  • Contribute to a collegial discussion
  • Learn about trends in assessment and liaison librarianship
  • Explore factors that can impede or enable effective assessment
