Please join Deanna Marcum, Roger Schonfeld, Christine Wolff, and Kimberly Lutz at Ithaka S+R’s participant meeting at ALA Midwinter on Sunday, January 10 from 1:30-3:00 pm, in the Seaport C Room at the Seaport Hotel.

At the meeting, we will share several updates, including

  • Findings from our recent and ongoing research projects. We have been pursuing an active research agenda and would like to share what we have learned to date about libraries’ changing acquisition practices, the diversity of New York City’s cultural institutions, new ways of considering the organization of academic libraries, and the scholarly communications landscape at research libraries.
  • Trends from the national and local surveys. Later in 2016, we will release findings from both the US and UK surveys of faculty. We will share how the survey instrument has changed over the years and our strategies for increasing the response rate. We will also discuss trends from the local surveys.
  • Three new Research Support Services projects. With the collaboration of publishers, scholarly societies, and libraries, we are undertaking “deep dive” research to uncover the unique needs of scholars in the fields of Agriculture, Asian Studies, and Religious studies. We will describe how the process works and solicit your feedback about which other disciplines we should take on.

This will be an informal meeting and will offer you the opportunity to meet with other participants who are engaged in making strategic decisions about their libraries’ future.

Please RSVP through Eventbrite.
