Liam Sweeney is a senior analyst with the Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums program at Ithaka S+R, where he researches issues of organizational structure, leadership, and public access in the cultural sector. His work focuses on issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and access, as well as institutional collaborations, organizational dynamics, and attitudinal trends in the field. He applies mixed research methods to conduct his work, which has included multiple demographic analyses of the art museum field as well as interview-based research with civic and academic museums, academic libraries, and other cultural organizations.

Liam holds a Master’s of Arts in liberal studies with a focus in data visualization from the CUNY Graduate Center, and a BPhil from the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied English literature, fiction writing, and economics. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Data Science at the CUNY Graduate Center.
