Raul Armenta is an intern with Ithaka S+R’s Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums team and is currently working on the Ascendium Education Group project that will help increase access to educational resources for higher education in prison programs. Raul is pursuing a master’s degree in Sociology and Education with a specialization in Educational Policy at Teachers College, Columbia University. Their research interests include neoliberalism, carcerality, social justice, and education. Raul currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside.
