Kelly Thompson is a Data Engineer at ITHAKA Labs. She recently joined the Transfer Explorer project, where she’s excited to apply her experience implementing real world data solutions at scale to the problem of credit mobility. She previously worked building software to support industry-leading scientific analysis and design of renewable energy infrastructure at NextEra Analytics, implementing computational solutions in the context of demographic data and research as a Data Engineer at the Institute for Social Research and Data Innovation at the University of Minnesota, as a metadata librarian and business systems analyst at Iowa State University Libraries and the University of Minnesota Libraries, and in lab- and field-based scientific research.  Kelly holds a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from the University of Iowa (where she held graduate assistantships in the Libraries’ Digital Research and Publishing unit and the Digital Studio for Public Humanities) and a BA in Biology from Carleton College.
