Kara is an analyst in the Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums program at Ithaka S+R. Previously, she served as the inaugural Association of African American Museums (AAAM) Fellowship 2020 fellow at Lord Cultural Resources, working as a consultant on strategy and business planning projects for cultural organizations and contributing to the design of the fellowship’s next iteration. For two and a half years, Kara was a research analyst at AEA Consulting—a boutique arts and culture management consulting firm—providing background research, drafting reports and deliverables, and leading the creation of their community engagement methodologies.
Kara holds a BA in Black history and the sociology of science from Swarthmore College and is currently an MLIS student at the Pratt School of Information in Manhattan. She is active in many professional associations including AAAM, the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, the Museum Computer Network, ICOM, Museums Association of the Caribbean, and the Society of American Archivists.
