Mark McBride is currently the associate director for Libraries, Scholarly Communications, and Museums at Ithaka S+R. He is a thought leader in higher education, with a track record of implementing changes within complex organizations. In his role current role at Ithaka S+R, Mark leads a team of researchers and analysts that investigate the talent management strategies of complex memory organizations, specifically focusing on helping to deliver innovative services that support organizational culture, collections, and infrastructure. He has worked in public higher education for nearly 20 years, focusing on academic libraries and student access to education. He is a learning scientist, focused on investigation implications of open education in the higher education curriculum and applying design based research to methodologies. He is co-founder of the Open Education Research Lab at the University at Buffalo and his research interests focus on the impact OER has on teaching and learning.
