At the New England Transfer Annual Conference, Ithaka S+R’s Chris Buonocore will join Steve Marcelynas, Karla Smith, Tara Kelly, and Kevin Caban to discuss credit transparency through technology.

In this session, participants will learn how six Connecticut institutions are partnering with Ithaka S+R to develop a technology solution that helps prospective transfer students answer key questions: What options do I have? How will my prior learning count? How long will it take, and what will it cost?

Transfer Explorer is a national credit‑mobility platform designed to make transfer information transparent, accurate, and easy to navigate. The tool displays how credits earned elsewhere transfer and apply to degree programs across multiple institutions. Automated data feeds ensure information remains current, while institutions can refine equivalency rules and program requirements using their existing systems.

The session will include a live demo of Transfer Explorer and an interactive discussion where participants will explore implementation successes, challenges, and strategies for improving transfer planning.
