Madeline Joy Trimble is a researcher at Ithaka S+R in the Educational Transformation program.  She has a particular interest in evaluating student success initiatives using both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with a special interest in causal inference. Prior to joining Ithaka S+R, she practiced institutional research at Bergen Community College and, before that, conducted research in areas such as developmental education, student pathways, and the returns to community college credentials at the Community College Research Center at Columbia University Teachers College.

Madeline holds a master’s degree in quantitative methods in the social sciences from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and sociology from Wesleyan University.
