Ithaka S+R developed the holistic credit mobility framework to think about transfer more broadly than its traditional definition, recognizing validated learning regardless of source so that learners can chart the shortest route from where they are to the credential they seek.

Last year, York Technical College and Winthrop University participated in the Holistic Credit Mobility Acceleration Cohort, working together to strengthen their transfer partnership through meta-major pathways and other joint credit mobility efforts. Lessons from their work and from the broader cohort also informed the development of a new Holistic Credit Mobility Playbook and Toolkit.

In this interactive session, participants will learn about the holistic credit mobility framework, lessons from the cohort, and practical resources developed through the project. Participants will then work in small groups to apply one of these resources to their own institutional context: assessing their institution’s holistic credit mobility practices, identifying key performance indicators for learner success, or mapping partnerships and assessing partnership health. The session will conclude with participants identifying opportunities to strengthen holistic credit mobility within their own institutions and partnerships.
