Michael Fried is a senior researcher at Ithaka S+R in the Educational Transformation program, where his work focuses on student learning and success, administrative efficacy, and the evaluation of new initiatives. He brings both qualitative and quantitative methodological experience to his projects as well as many years of experience as a practitioner and administrator in a variety of institutional settings, including assessment and accreditation, faculty development, academic program management, and student affairs.

Michael has a PhD in higher and post-secondary education from New York University, an MSed in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in English and religion from Emory University. His research and presentations have focused on the application of the experience of work for faculty and staff in higher education, the impact of experiential learning on student success, and the effective assessment of academic and administrative initiatives.
