How has the nature of collections and preservation changed in an increasingly digital world?

Our research and advisory projects help secure access to and preservation of the scholarly record, reexamine the nature of collections within research libraries, archives, museums, and cultural heritage organizations, and evaluate the efficacy of preservation initiatives.

Assessing and expanding collections

We partner with libraries to help them build more comprehensive, diverse, and inclusive collections and enhance their services to better meet the needs of patrons.

Tracking the perspectives of archives, library, and museum directors

How are the leaders of cultural heritage organizations and collections adapting to change? Through large scale surveys we gather insight on the challenges they face and opportunities they are exploring. Insights from these national surveys help archives, library, and museum leaders plan for the future and benchmark against peer institutions and inform the strategic directions of funders and service providers.

Evaluating preservation initiatives and tools

We collaborate with a variety of libraries, universities, and cultural institutions to assess their efforts to preserve and protect their valuable collections and resources for the future, evaluating digital preservation tools, systems, and more.
