Ithaka S+R has two new positions to support our dynamic research on libraries, scholarly communication, and museums. Our work helps these organizations better support scholarship, instruction, community engagement, and student success by empowering them to gather and effectively utilize evidence that supports strong decision-making about strategic direction and service offerings.

Our new analyst positions provide unique opportunities to conduct and publish major research projects and consult with a variety of organizations, including academic and public libraries, scholarly societies, publishers, and museums. Analyst, Surveys

The Ithaka S+R surveys team continues to grow to support our exciting and expanding portfolio of projects focused on issues pertaining to research, teaching, learning, and organizational needs, including the US Faculty Survey, US Library Director Survey, Local Surveys program, Community College Libraries & Academic Support for Student Success (CCLASSS) project, and the Community College Academic and Student Services Ecosystem (CCASSE) project. The analyst will support both large-scale national surveys as well as projects for individual colleges, universities, and organizations through survey instrument design and data analysis, and will have opportunities to publish and present their work in a variety of venues.

Analyst, Qualitative

We conduct in-depth qualitative analyses of research, teaching and learning practices that generate actionable recommendations for how information services and tools can be optimally designed. Our team’s work focuses on creating large-scale cohort-based projects and working with underrepresented and under-resourced academic communities from a social justice perspective. Examples of some of the projects the analyst will contribute to include: qualitative analysis for a study on research support needs in languages and literatures, site visits to support the Community College Academic and Student Services Ecosystem (CCASSE) project and conducting a series of interviews for a forthcoming Mellon-funded project on postsecondary correctional education. The analyst will also have the opportunity to contribute to the methodological design of current and future projects and to develop their public presence as a researcher by publishing and presenting their work.
